Adding a new page to your website using the Lighthouse content management system is super easy. Here’s how it’s done.
Let’s assume you have a new service and you’d like to create a new page about it under the Services section. Simply navigate to the Services section in SiteEditor and select “Create a New Page”. By the way, it’s really easy to move this page later if you like. We’ll cover how you can do that in another video.
A dialogue box will open where you can put your page property information. First, select the template you’d like to use. I’ll choose the Services template. Then type in the page title. The navigation title, unique name and page URL automatically fill in with the page title but you can edit each of these fields separately if you like.
Check “Show in Navigation” if you’d like a link to this new page to appear in the dropdown navigation under Services. If you uncheck this, you can still link to this page within the content of your site.
You can also designate this a members only page. Select the member user groups that should have access to this page. If you check Show link to public, the link will appear to nonmembers but they will need to log in to access the content. This can be a nice way to entice people to sign up as a member.
Select OK and your page will be created. In the lefthand admin tools panel, you can see and edit all the page property information including browser title and meta info. And in the site tree you will see where your page lives. I’ll save the page as Work in Progress. Now you’re ready to enter content!
